Saplings planted till date
TAP is a bi - annual tree plantation drive conducted by volunteers of DR. the initiative also includes environmental conservation awareness drives, rainwater harvesting campaigns, 'Clean Your Village' work camps, Organic farming and vermicomposting workshops etc. This helps in mitigating the ill effects of pollution, climate change, global warming and assist in disaster mitigation by protecting human settlements from floods and cyclones that cause widespread damage to life and property.
Challenge
Red tapism and bureaucratic delays in obtaining permission from district administration, maintenance of planted saplings is labor intensive, protection and regular nourishment
Solution
Pledge to ‘plant and adopt a tree’ for life initiative, where residents of every gram panchayat pledge to protect & conserve nature to prevent global disruptions in the future
